THE JOURNEY… FROM SEED TO SMOKE

Every Al Capone cigarillo goes through an amazing journey before reaching your hands. It is a journey filled with tradition, experience and nurtured by those who know tobacco cannot be rushed. From the careful planting of the seedlings to the harvesting and fermentation of the leaves, Al Capone takes great pride in creating a quality product for you to enjoy.

THE FARM

In Sao Felix, our tobacco experts select and carefully cultivate new seedlings every season. The varieties used in our cigarillos are chosen to give us the richest smoothest flavor. Once the seedlings are strong enough, each is inspected to ensure the highest quality and made ready for “planting out” in our mineral rich soils. Continue the journey to the leaves.

THE LEAVES

The next step of the journey is out in the beautiful Bahia countryside where the crops are tended and monitored. While developing the special Al Capone flavor you know, some of the varieties are “shade grown” under canopies ensuring the leaves are milder in flavor and perfect for our dark natural wrappers.

CIGARILLOS

The cigarillos come to life in this step of the journey. Once the tobacco has been harvested and naturally air cured, the leaves are sorted and made ready for rolling. The “bunches” are made from finely cut filler in a homogenized tobacco leaf binder and then carefully hand rolled in a natural wrapper by our skilled rollers. A premium cigarillo is born, ready for your enjoyment…
